Part-Time Administrative Assistant

Reports To: Executive Director
Location: Epekwitk (PEI) – Hybrid (Remote/In-Person)
Hours: 16 hours per week
Salary: $32/hr (plus full health benefits)
Employment Type: Part-time, contract, starts June 22,  2026 - Ends March 31, 2027. 

Position Summary:
The Administrative Assistant serves as a cornerstone of PEITN’s operations and mission delivery. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, they will provide administrative support including financial administration, file management, external communications and logistical coordination.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Financial Administration: Compiling credit card/bank receipts, invoices, honorarium forms, and staff reimbursements.

  • Communications & Outreach: Monitoring/updating social media and Discord; responding to general emails and phone calls; and updating the website with current events and resources. 

  • Executive & Program Support: Assisting the Executive Director with admin templates for grant reporting; supporting the Program Coordinator with venue bookings, catering, and data tracking. Assisting other program facilitators or contractors with administrative needs as requested. 

  • Governance & Records: Coordinating Board meeting logistics, and managing organizational databases and Google Drive folders.

  • Operations & Logistics: Ensuring the office is organized, catalogued, and stocked for events and programming. 

  • Information Management: Tracking changes to provincial/federal legislation; maintaining an updated community resource/referral directory.

  • Equity & Accessibility: Ensuring all administrative documents and digital communications meet accessibility standards (e.g., alt-text, screen-reader compatibility).

  • Other administrative tasks as required.


Work Environment

  • The working environment at PEITN is a purpose-driven, hybrid space that balances professionalism and passion with a deep-seated commitment to community care and anti-oppressive practice.

  • The office is located in downtown Charlottetown with street parking, close to transit, and accessible by elevator.

  • Flexible work arrangements with some requirements to work in the office occasionally.

Qualifications & Experience:
(Demonstrated skills and experience)

The ideal candidate for this position would have:

  • Lived experience and/or strong understanding of 2S/TGNBGD+ issues, communities, and the specific needs within Epekwitk (PEI).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Confident in making phone calls and handling potentially stressful communications.   

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

  • Proficiency in using Google Suite (mail, calendar, docs, spreadsheets, GChat, Meet), Mailchimp, Discord, Canva, and Squarespace.  


Additional Details:

  • Applicants must reside on Epekwitk (PEI).

  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to support programs, community events and workshops.

  • Travel outside Charlottetown may be required (transport provided).
