  • Queer Choir is a fun, fabulous and FREE community space for 2SLGBTQIA+ folks and allies to sing together. We are a judgement-free space where you can explore your identity (name, pronouns, gender expression). Perfectionism is not accepted, just JOY! Check out the Upcoming Events page for rehearsal and performance dates!

  • PEERS Alliance website: Info on Buds, sign-up and registration. Buds is a supportive brave space for trans or gender diverse Adults 18+.

    It takes place during the last Thursday of the month from September - June; 6:30-8:30 pm at PEERS Alliance office Charlottetown.

employment Services

Employment services can help you with job search, resume development, career exploration, interview preparation, and navigating employment and training opportunities. Scan the list below to view the many services available across the Island!

  • CDS has locations across the Island. They support with career counselling, job search, resume writing, and finding training opportunities. You can drop into their space to view their job board, use their computers to search job postings or work on your resume. Learn more.

  • The Creative Employment Options program is designed to support individuals with disabilities (both diagnosed and self-diagnosed) to develop the skills needed to achieve their employment goals. They offer Individualized and group-based learning environments, Career and personal development, wellness for work, and job search support, Ergonomic and/or assistive technology assessments and solutions. They also offer wage subsidies to potential employers. Learn more.

  • The Employment Services and Counselling program is a comprehensive program that assists job seekers with disabilities. The program provides a continuum of services with the ultimate goal of securing employment and promoting employment inclusion.

    They have three offices with Employment Specialists who provide services including career decision making, skill enhancement, job search and job maintenance. Learn More.

  • A national not-for-profit organization that exists to promote and support meaningful and equitable employment of persons with disabilities.

    They offer job search assistance, employer incentives, accommodation assessments, consulting services, and a variety of workshops. Learn more.

  • A skills and training improvement organization that will aid you in building your education and/or skillset to help you find work in the sector you are seeking. They provide individualize support tailored to your needs, availability and interests. Learn more.

  • Fitzroy Centre Clubhouse is an internationally accredited, recovery-based program for people living with mental illness.

    They offer a wide range of supports and services to assist individual's with their personal goals and recovery journey. These include prevocational training, skill development, employment, education, housing, wellness and social programs, advocacy, referrals and more. Learn More.

  • The MCPEI Employment Services team provides and administers culturally appropriate employment-based programs and services to Indigenous people living in PEI. As a client-focused program, their work is centered around providing the proper support that clients need to return to work and training. Learn more.

  • The Employment Assistance Service team works collaboratively with other IRSA departments to provide integrated employment-related support tailored to help clients overcome the specific barriers faced by newcomers to Canada.

    If you are a new immigrant, after you arrive in PEI and register with IRSA, you can schedule an appointment to meet with an employment specialist. The specialist will begin by asking questions about your education, previous work experience, skills, and qualifications, and then help you become an independent jobseeker. Learn More.

  • PEERS ALLIANCE

    PEERS Alliance supports those living with and at risk for HIV, Hep C, and all sexually transmitted infections in PEI by offering a variety of programs and services targeted to diverse communities.

  • Pride PEI

    Most people are aware of Pride PEI as the organization behind the annual Pride Festival and Parade. Though these events are a crucial part of what we do, Pride PEI is also a resource for the Island’s queer community.

  • Our Landing Place

    Not having your identity affirmed or your relationship structure validated can leave you feeling unsupported and judged. Our sex-positive, inclusive, and queer-affirming therapy collective is different.

  • BIPOC USHR

    BIPOC USHR aims to bring together and serve BIPOC communities on PEI in ways that build solidarity and help them thrive, specifically through community building, intersectional justice education and advocacy, programming, and supportive practices to form stronger and more resilient communities.

  • GENDER AFFIRMING CARE PEI

    Gender Affirming Care PEI is a community-based team working to improve health access and equity for transgender, gender-divergent, transsexual, and intersex individuals in Prince Edward Island. 
    Gender Affirming Care PEI provides free, confidential healthcare navigation assistance to community members and healthcare providers. Contact our Trans Health System Navigation line by calling or texting (902)918-5559 or via email at transhealth@gacpei.ca.

  • Egale Canada & Univeristy of Toronto

    Reach out to our Local Outreach Project Coordinator, Siddhu, for more details on Expand 2.0, a QT Smoking Cessation initiative in partnership with Egale Canada and UofT. Access free resources such as: Cessation information, access to Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) and more: Siddhu@peitn.com
