Position Summary:
PEITN seeks an energetic, organized, and dedicated Program & Outreach Coordinator to support the development and lead the implementation of our programs, community events and outreach for the 2S/TGNBGD+ community on Epekwitk (PEI). This role supports the community by creating and facilitating accessible, welcoming and engaging programming. The Program Coordinator will also collaborate with other 2SLGBTQIA+ serving organizations and allies to expand PEITN’s reach across the Island.
Role Responsibilities:
Program Development, Coordination & Facilitation
Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop programming and events ideas for the 2S/TGNBGD+ community on Epekwitk (PEI).
Secure venues, arrange transportation, manage registration, and handle all logistical details for PEITN programs and events.
Lead and facilitate select program activities in a trauma-informed, inclusive, and engaging manner, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all participants.
Develop and distribute promotional materials (flyers, social media content, website updates) to maximize participation.
Support other program facilitators with logistics and coordination needs.
Track program expenses, and ensure efficient use of resources.
Collect and analyze data on program effectiveness. Prepare reports on program outcomes, and make recommendations for improvement.
Outreach & Engagement
Attend select community events, meetings, and conferences to represent the PEI Transgender Network and promote our programs and services.
Manage PEITN’s external communications channels (website, social media, newsletter) with a clear focus on updating the 2S/TGNBGD+ community, parents and allies about relevant services, events, and programs.
Create promotional materials as needed.
Support with the moderation of the community Discord.
Volunteer Management
Identify and recruit volunteers to assist with program delivery and event support.
Provide training and orientation to volunteers, ensuring they can effectively support programs and events.
Coordinate volunteer schedules, provide guidance, and oversee their contributions to programs and events.
Acknowledge and appreciate volunteer contributions.
Grant and Funding Support
Research and identify potential grant opportunities and funding sources that align with the organization's programming goals.
Assist the Executive Director in writing grant proposals, including program descriptions, budgets, and evaluation plans.
Assist the Executive Director with preparing reports for funders, outlining program activities, outcomes, and financial expenditures, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
(Demonstrated skills and experience)
Lived experience and/or strong understanding of 2S/TGNBGD+ issues, communities, and the specific needs within Epekwitk (PEI).
Demonstrated experience in program development, planning, implementation, and facilitation.
Proven ability to coordinate events and manage logistical details (venue booking, transportation, registration, etc.).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively..
Proficiency in using Google Suite (mail, calendar, docs, spreadsheets, GChat, Meet), Mailchimp, Discord, and Squarespace.
A valid Driver’s License and access to a vehicle are an asset.
Non-Essential Qualifications & Experience
(Good to have this experience)
Experience in facilitating groups and activities in a trauma-informed, inclusive, and engaging manner.
Demonstrated experience in all aspects of volunteer management, including recruitment, training, scheduling, supervision, and recognition
Experience creating promotional materials (flyers, social media content, website updates).
Experience with tracking expenses and ensuring efficient resource utilization.
Additional Details:
Occasional evening and weekend work may be required for programs, community events and workshops.
Travel within PEI will be required.

Salary: $54,600/year (plus health benefits & RRSP matching)
Employment Type: Full-Time Contract, 2-year position (Until March 31st, 2027) with possibility of extension
